Kelly Magazine.
Kelly Magazine is our biggest collaborative outreach initiative so far.
We were given the opportunity to work with Kelly Mental Health's incredible staff turning their in-house mental health articles into a creative, beautiful, timeless project called Kelly Magazine. Since they were committed to describing the lived experience of mental health issues and helping people truly understand how to manage, we were committed to getting that project distributed all over the city.

From driving around town dropping off stacks of magazines, to sending copies by mail, to helping out at trade shows and events, KMH Foundation has been proud to not only be featured in the magazine as one of our region's greatest resources, but to have been also supported by the proceeds of donations that came about because of this work.
Kelly Magazine is special. It's written from the perspective of mental health experts and survivors that have a way of telling stories that resonate with us. Having a copy means having access to tangible, meaningful information from people who care; people that want to help our community beyond what can be done in counselling sessions.

By supporting and distributing it, our hope is to clap back at the stigma surrounding mental health issues. We want to normalize conversations about mental health at home, in the workplace, and within the community, using empathy-based outreach initiatives that promote true understanding of mental health and how it affects us all.
Topics Addressed include: Addiction + anxiety + body image + bullying + counselling + depression + emotion regulation + family life + grief + happiness + healthy living + mindfulness + parenting + pandemic support + relationships + self-help + self-esteem + sleep + social life + stress + well-being + work-life balance
Kelly Magazine is a health & wellness magazine complete with an ever-growing collection mental health related articles. With new stories every week from the writers, the goal is to keep our community constantly updated with the latest on relationships, mental health, wellness, and lifestyle.

Shaw Spotlight: Let's Grow! and Mental Health Tips with KMH Foundation

Let's Grow
Shaw Spotlight asked us to bring our knowledge about mental health to their audience to educate the public, and we thought there was no better way than by sharing our own stories of loss, trauma, and grief to bring to light all the things people have a hard time talking about. In this way, we could share how mental health treatment can help, because we know that it helped us too. In this very special episode on Pregnancy Loss featuring Melissa Venoit and Amanda Hampton, we explore the mental health impact of miscarriage and stillbirth. Follow the link to see the rest of our videos with the Let's Grow series. |

Mental Health Tips During Covid-19
Our local heroes at Shaw Spotlight approached us at KMH Foundation in 2020 when the pandemic began to impact our lives. They let us know that their viewers were asking for help - that suddenly they were stuck inside, unsure of what the future would hold for them, and dealing with a lot of anxiety. Here they gave us the opportunity to record a variety of videos (while socially distanced!) to provide Mental Health Tips to the public. Check out our playlist! |
